Calgary, December 20, 2004 KeySpan Facilities Income Fund (TSX:KEY.UN; KEY.DB) announced today a cash distribution for December, 2004 of 9.8 cents per unit. The distribution will be payable on January 14, 2005 to Unitholders of record on December 31, 2004. The ex-distribution date is December 29, 2004.
For unitholders resident in Canada, this distribution will be fully tax-deferred as it is a return of capital.
For non-resident unitholders, as a result of changes to Canadian tax legislation, withholdings will be made on distributions paid after January 1, 2005. The legislation requires withholdings to be made on the total amount of distributions to non-resident unitholders of certain types of trusts, including both the return on capital and the return of capital portions. Accordingly, withholdings are to be made on this distribution, which will be paid on January 14, 2005.
